Professional Experience
Teresa has been employed as a paralegal at Roy, Simmons, Smith & Parsons, P.S., since 2008. Before joining the firm, she worked locally as a paralegal since 2000. Prior to returning home to Washington in 2000, Teresa worked as a paralegal in California and Texas.
Teresa started her career as a paralegal in the early 80s and brings her extensive experience to the firm in the fields of municipal and insurance defense, and commercial and business litigation, including practical experience and technical knowledge in case management, conducting witness interviews and case investigation, preparation of court pleadings, motion and trial calendaring, records review, issuing subpoenas and conducting discovery, and trial preparation. Teresa's caseload includes municipal defense litigation, defending cities and towns, school districts and other municipalities in both state and federal court; insurance defense litigation involving automobile accidents and other tort claims; and breach of contract and other commercial or business disputes. She also assists with real estate disputes and condominium/ homeowner association collection litigation.
Education
Teresa attended Olympia Technical Community College (now Evergreen) in Olympia, with a focus on business, and continued her education at Allen Hancock College, Santa Maria, California, which included completion of a two year Certified Paralegal program.
Personal Activities
Teresa enjoys traveling/vacationing, both near and far, weekend adventures in the motorhome with family/friends, and working in the garden or landscaping her yard.
