Professional Experience
Eric Roy is a partner in the law firm of Roy, Simmons, Smith & Parsons, P.S., founded in 1999. He was admitted to practice in 1991.
Eric’s specialty is civil litigation. His primary focus during his career has been defense of school districts and cities, and personal injury. Eric has extensive trial experience including over 60 civil jury trials. He has tried cases in nearly every county in Western Washington. He also has significant federal court experience.
Eric is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Whatcom County Bar Association and the King County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. He has served as an arbitrator on multiple occasions and has been a lecturer for the WSBA on Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Eric’s prior legal experience includes a judicial clerkship with Judge Robert H. Peterson of the Pierce County Superior Court in 1991 and 1992.
Education
Eric received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Washington State University in 1986 and earned his Juris Doctor from Williamette University with honors in 1991.
