Professional Experience
Daniel T. Parsons has been with Roy, Simmons, Smith & Parsons, P.S., since 1999. He was admitted to practice in Washington in 1992.
Dan has extensive experience in the fields of real estate and business litigation and municipal and insurance defense litigation. He also maintains a criminal defense practice and is contracted to provide public defender services for the cities of Ferndale, Blaine, Everson-Nooksack, Lynden and Sumas. Dan is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Whatcom County Bar Association and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a former funded member of the WSBA Public Relations Committee. Dan is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and has served as a designated arbitrator for the Whatcom County Superior Court.
Dan's prior legal experience includes a federal judicial clerkship in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I, and a two year stint as a civilian attorney working for the United States Navy in the areas of employment and environmental law.
Education
Dan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1988 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington in 1992.
Civic Activities
Dan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Whatcom County North Rotary. He was a former member and two-term president for the Ferndale Kiwanis Club and a former board member of the Whatcom County Humane Society. Dan participates in and contributes to a number of law related causes including the Law Day Clinic, Volunteer Lawyer Program, Street Law Project, YMCA Mock Trial Competition and Teen Court Program. Dan has been a repeat recipient of the Washington State Bar Association's Pro Bono Publico Service Commendation.
