Professional Experience

Bret Simmons is a partner in the law firm of Roy, Simmons, Smith & Parsons, P.S., founded in 1999. He was admitted to practice in Washington in 1995 and Arizona in 1996.

Bret has extensive experience in several areas of litigation, including real estate, business, municipal, insurance defense and personal injury. Bret is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Arizona Bar Association, the Whatcom County Bar Association and the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Washington and Arizona and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.

In 2007, Bret was selected as a "Rising Star" by Washington Law & Politics. Rising Stars are chosen by their peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers. Only 2.5 percent of Washington attorneys receive this honor each year.

Bret has extensive trial experience in counties throughout the state of Washington.

Education

Bret received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University in 1992 and earned his Juris Doctor from Willamette University in 1995.

Civic Activities

Bret currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA). He is also a founding member of the Liam Wood Fly Fishers and River Guardians.
